Episodes not added to Up Next automatically anymore [Android]
-
Hi!
I have a (new?) issue using the Android version (on Android 16).
Basically, even if the podcast has the setting ‘Add to Up Next’ selected, the episodes are not added automatically anymore.
This started happened after I added a new podcast with a lot (~100) episodes to the Up Next list: it seems that after that, new episodes of *any* podcast are not added automatically anymore.
I now have ~150 episodes and ~150h of items in the Up Next list. Is there any limit that prevents new episodes to be added automatically?
Thanks!

The support bot just told me there is a Up Next limit, which can be changed :) It was 100, now I set it to 1000 and let’s see if that was the issue!

Hi @nothwupgrade,
Thanks for following up, and sorry to hear that increasing the Auto Add Limit didn’t do the trick.
This is actually a known issue we are currently tracking, where episodes can stop being auto-added to Up Next even when the limit has not been reached. It seems to be connected to having a large number of episodes already in the queue. To help us investigate further, could you share the following?
- Your current app version (you can find this at Profile > Settings > scroll to the bottom)
- Approximately how many episodes are currently in your Up Next queue
- The name of one or two podcasts where you expected a new episode to be auto-added but was not
- Whether this happens with episodes from all podcasts or only some
In the meantime, it is also worth checking the per-podcast setting for one of the affected shows: go to the podcast page, tap the settings (gear) icon, and confirm that “Add to Up Next” is still enabled there.
One more thing to try: go to Profile > Settings > Auto Add to Up Next, and check what “If Limit Reached” is set to. If it is set to “Stop adding,” try switching it to “Only Add To Top” temporarily to see if that changes anything.
