Feature Request: Auto Download Old Releases

The way auto-download currently works is to trigger the auto downloaded when there’s a new release. I’d like to be able to have auto download trigger a download when there are less than a set number of episodes downloaded, and have them download from the back of the catalogue, downloading the oldest episodes first.

Any update on this? It’s been nearly 3 years waiting… I too would like the auto download to have the option between new release and oldest first. When I add a new podcast I like to start from the beginning, not the latest release. So I don’t want to max out the phone storage as what a bulk download does (sometimes there is thousands of episodes).
