Google Gemini functionality

Are there any plans to add Google Gemini support to Pocket Casts? For example, I’d love to be able to tell Gemini to ”Play the latest episode of [Podcast Name]”.

Were you thinking of this functionality when using Google Gemini as a voice assistant? Or were you thinking that this would be useful when interacting with Gemini through text?

I was thinking of using Google Gemini as a voice assistant. That way, for example, while driving with Android Auto, I could have it start a specific podcast without needing to interact with a screen at all.
I can also think of other examples, like: “I have 20 minutes before my next meeting. What’s an unplayed podcast episode in my queue that fits that window?” or “Read me the show notes from the currently playing podcast,” or “Create a reminder to check out the link just mentioned in the podcast I’m listening to.”

Thank you for sharing more details about this! I’ve forwarded it along to our development team as a feature request. Features are considered by our developers for every release based on the number of requests we receive for that feature. If other Pocket Casts users also request this feature, it increases the chance of it being built.

Thank you for putting in the feature request and for at least considering it!
It seems like with Google Assistant on the way out and Gemini coming in as the replacement this makes sense for the future.
