How to turn off cellular data streaming warning?

I believe this issue only started on a recent update: I’m out on a walk and Pocketcasts isn’t playing. I look at the app and it’s giving me a warning that I’ll be streaming on cellular data and asks if i want to continue.
My iPhone settings already allows Pocketcasts to stream over cellular data. I don’t see any new settings in the app to adjust but figured I’d ask here in case I missed something. Can I turn this warning/blocking off? -
Within the Pocket Casts app, if you navigate to Profile > Settings > Storage & Data Use, you should see a “Warn Before Using Data” option. If you disable that option, it should prevent the app from showing those warnings before streaming on cellular data.

The problem for me is that when this warning comes up, the current version of the app does not wait for a response before going ahead and using my cell data (which I NEVER want it to do). Previously, it would at least wait for a response before proceeding. This behaviour changed relatively recently.
What I would really like is for it to just SKIP OVER non-downloaded episodes so that I can listen while driving without having to deal with problems. -

What you’re describing, the warning appearing but the app going ahead and streaming over cellular without waiting for your response, sounds like a known bug that we’re actively working on fixing for an upcoming release.
In the meantime, the most reliable workaround to prevent any cellular data use is to disable mobile data for Pocket Casts in your device’s system settings:
- iPhone: Settings > Cellular > scroll to Pocket Casts > toggle it off
- Android: Settings > Apps > Pocket Casts > Mobile data > toggle off
Just a heads up that this will also prevent syncing and checking for new episodes while off WiFi, but it will guarantee no cellular streaming while you’re driving.
As for automatically skipping non-downloaded episodes when you’re off WiFi – that’s not something the app can do right now, but it’s a great suggestion.
