Instant starting of episode without deleting queue

Hi, I’ve been using the app for a long time and am quite satisfied with it. (Android)
However, I’m annoyed every day by the fact that it doesn’t seem possible to play the latest episode directly from a podcast’s overview without clearing the existing queue.
Instead, I have to- add the latest episode of my podcast to the queue
- switch to the queue
- long-press the newly added episode
and only then is it moved to the top of the playlist and started.
Why can’t I simply long-press the latest episode within the podcast itself to move it directly to the top of the playlist and start it at the same time?
Does this feature actually not exist, or am I just overlooking it?

If you already have multiple episodes in your Up Next queue, you should be able to just tap on the Play button of a new episode and it will start playback with all existing episodes in your Up Next queue remaining there.
The only exception to that is if there is only a single episode in Up Next — the one that’s currently playing. In that scenario, if you tap the play button on a new episode it will replace the existing episode. This behavior is to account for Pocket Casts users that prefer to not use Up Next at all.
Are you finding that this behavior isn’t working as expected? If so, could you let us know the steps you take where it clears Up Next and how many episodes are in Up Next when it occurs?

I feel really bad about this, because I actually can’t reproduce the behavior I described anymore. It’s exactly as you described.
It’s possible that I actually only had one track left in the playlist when I noticed this problem.
