On screen volume control
-
Could there be an on-screen volume control, at least on the iPad version? My recollection is that early versions of the product had one, but it was removed. As a result, I swipe down to the iPad’s Control Centre to where a media player with the desired volume control is available.
You might ask what is the point of the app duplicating controls that are already provided by the device and its OS. To that I say that everything in PocketCasts is controlled from the screen, save for one action, changing volume, for which one has to summon other screens, or fumble round the edges for the hardware controls. Additionally, iPad volume increase/decrease buttons now swap over depending on what angle the device is tilted over at, which defeats muscle memory of which one is which. I have hoped for the return of the in-app controls since they were removed. -
Thanks for the detailed feedback! An on-screen volume control for the iPad (and iOS) player is a feature request, so I’ve added it to our ideas board for the team to consider. The more community interest it gets, the better its chances of making it back in.
