Suggestion: Sync Transcript With Playback

It’s very frustrating that the transcript doesn’t auto-scroll.

+1 Please add thisss I can name 5 other podcast playing apps that have it but their UI is so bad 😭 I could never use it. Please add this, it is a need.

I completely agree with this suggestion. Having the transcript automatically follow the playback would make it much easier to follow long episodes, especially when studying or trying to understand specific parts of a conversation. I also think this kind of synchronized text-and-media experience is becoming increasingly useful for content creators, since clear video editing and well-timed captions can make tutorials and educational content much easier to follow.

That makes sense. Synchronized transcripts can make it much easier to follow content without constantly adjusting your position manually. I think the same principle is useful for video editing as well, where keeping captions, audio, and visuals properly aligned can make the final content much easier to follow. Thank you so much, it worked for a few days then it stopped, now it is back to just transcript without highlights. Can you please help me with this, just a few days ago I was using it to take notes from a podcast I was listening to but recently it went back to transcript only. Thank you. I have a Plus subscription.

@delicately0b8d7cd844 The highlights only work with transcripts generated by Pocket Casts. So, first, please check if the transcripts were from us. You can distinguish those from ones uploaded by the podcast authors themselves because ours will have a star icon in the “View transcript” button. We have more on that here:
