The web lacks a manifest.json file

I want to pin PocketCasts into my taskbar but due the lack of a manifest file in the <head> of the web, the browser automatically picks the low-resolution favicon as the icon for the shortcut.

I don’t think the label “feature request” (as “wish” or “extra”) is appropriate for a strictly internal and integral matter. Icons aside, a manifest file is fundamental to any service that operates as a web application. It goes beyond just a suggestion, which is why I posted in support instead.

Thank you for your feedback on this! I think you’re likely right that a proper manifest file would provide a better experience. I’ve updated the note to our development team to reflect that.
I am curious, though. Is there something about adding Pocket Casts to your desktop environment in this way that you find better than installing the Pocket Casts desktop app? Are there features or enhancements you get with this setup that the desktop app doesn’t provide? I’d be happy to forward that along to our team as well!
