Update podcasts later on other applications
-
Hello,
I just started on Pocket Cast which is very good in terms of functions (archiving, customization of podcasts, playback speed,…) but I notice that podcasts are updated much later on Apple podcast or RSSRadio. Would there be an option or parameter to change this?

Hi! Are you asking to intentionally delay podcast updates? Or are you seeing feeds that are not updating in a timely manner on Pocket Casts?
If the latter applies, can you please share at least one of the following with us?
- Podcast listing on other platforms like Apple Podcasts or Google Podcasts
- Official site
- RSS feed URL

Indeed, I see podcasts that are updated on Pocket Cast later than on Apple Podcasts ( and I’m not talking to you about the iOS RSSRadio app that instantly updates the podcast once the show is over). For example, yesterday, there was
:Le monde à 18h51 :https://radiofrance-podcast.net/podcast09/rss_24391.xmlet La tech la première https://radiofrance-podcast.net/podcast09/rss_24393.xml
In addition, some podcasts do not update on Pocket cast while they are up to date on Apple:https://radiofrance-podcast.net/podcast09/35099478-7c72-4f9e-a6de-1b928400e9e5/rss_12249.xml

I’ve noticed this as well; podcasts come in faster on Apple Podcasts by as much as two days sometimes.

Hi, @neaulaurent and @drtbell5df55239a9!
Podcast parsing in Pocket Casts is not instant. It may help you to know that, on average, it can take around 20 minutes for our parsers to pick up changes. Different factors like feed errors or upload frequency can also make that longer. We are, however, always working on improving parsing speeds.
In addition, we did experience some server issues recently, which definitely caused more problems than usual with parsing. That said, we have already released some fixes for those.
If you continue to notice issues though, please do share the podcast with us. For all three podcasts @neaulaurent shared, for example, I just checked and those all seem to be up-to-date in Pocket Casts now.
